Facts for your article

Getting the details right

Short, checked facts from our crew, in case they help your piece.

A protected reserve

The Daymaniyat Islands are a protected nature reserve and an important turtle nesting area. Visitors go with a boat company that holds the reserve permit.

Getting there

Boats leave from Seeb Marina in Muscat. The crossing takes about 25–30 minutes, depending on the sea.

When you can land

Landing on the island beaches is allowed from 1 November to 30 April. From May to October boats still go out, and guests snorkel from the boat.

Wildlife

Sea turtles are commonly spotted. Whale sharks are seen in some years between June and September. Wildlife is never guaranteed.
